Fees & Charges

Senior Members
Senior Members pay $110 per year, reducible to $100 if paid by 31/03/08 (that translates to only $2 per week to cover tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, our rent of the hall, and $13 NZCF levy). Tertiary Students, High School Students and "Juniors", i.e. under 20 years old as at 01/01/08, joining the Senior tournaments pay $50 (that translates to only $1 per week), reducible to $45 if paid by 31/03/08. Subscription to the "New Zealand Chess" magazine is an additional $15.

Associate Senior Members
Associate Senior Members pay $50 per year. Associate Senior Membership is available for those who can't make it to the Club on a regular basis, but who nevertheless wish to enter tournaments on an irregular basis and keep their membership current.

Junior Members
Junior Members in the Coaching Cadre pay $30 per School Term, reducible to $100 for four terms if paid by 31/03/08 (that translates to only $2 per week to cover tea, coffee, milk and biscuits for waiting parents, our rent of the hall, and $6.50 NZCF levy).

The above fees include a programme of tournaments and coaching of the Junior classes by New Zealand Master and North Island Champion Leonard McLaren. On occasion a very strong player will run a group training session, open to Juniors and Seniors. Also included is a New Zealand Chess Federation registration fee of $13 for adults and $6.50 for Juniors or Children, which means a player can enter tournaments without paying an extra fee. We continue to hold nationally rated tournaments at our Club. Easy payments and casual fees are available.

Freelance Coaching
One-on-one coaching is not offered by the Club, but can be arranged for your child with a Freelance Coach. Leonard McLaren or Ewen Green are mobile Freelance Coaches, and will call at your home. You will need to make separate payment arrangements with the Freelance Coach.
